KILLING FLOOR RECORDISTS
KILLING FLOOR RECORDISTS
KILLING FLOOR is a full-service production house for artists who give a damn about their art. Founded by John Francis with over 30 years in the studio, and backed by a collective of colleagues & friends with deep, combined music-industry experience, we work fast, honest, and with zero patience for mediocre. We strip your songs down to what matters and build them back louder, with punch, clarity, and weight built to survive any speaker.
Im also in a band. Dresden Still Burns is my Dark Alternative Metal and hard rock project, so every Question / Answer you ask or get on your record or about your record comes from people who’ve written, tracked, and bled for their own. We work with any genre and any level—if you care about your art, we’re your people. Whether you’re tracking in one of our studios (we have access to many World Class Facilities) or recording remotely from anywhere in the world, distance doesn’t change the quality of what we deliver. And we don’t impose our will on your project, its your’s not ours, we are confident in what we do, and our soul purpose is to “serve the song”

Mixing & Mastering
Mixing is where we take your pile of tracks, a guitar fighting the vocal, drums buried in a hole, and a bass that’s doing its own thing, and make them behave. We balance, carve, punch, and polish until it hits like a freight train and still sounds good on laptop speakers. No magic wand, just 30 years of ears, a lot of coffee, and zero tolerance for mud. “We don’t just turn things up. We make everything deserve to be heard.”
Tracking & Remote Recording
Tracking is where the real damage gets done. You walk in with songs, nerves, and a guitar tone you swear sounds better at home, and we capture the whole thing at full volume, right when it happens. Great rooms, great mics, great players, and an engineer who knows when a take is magic and when it’s just loud. We catch the grit, the feel, and the mistakes worth keeping, so the record sounds like a band instead of a spreadsheet. “where the band stops practicing and starts sounding dangerous.”
Co-Production & Songwriting
Co-production is having someone in your corner who’s heard a few thousand songs and isn’t afraid to say the bridge is dragging. We dig into your arrangements, tighten the performances, challenge the weak spots, and protect what makes you you. Think of it as a second set of ears with 30 years behind them and a strong opinion about that tambourine. You stay the artist. We just make sure the song walks out the door ready for a fight. “We tell you what your bandmates are too polite to say.”
